2025 year-end giving campaign
We have recently received a very generous $75,000 donation and we need you to help us double that in order to reach our $150,000 fundraising goal by the end of 2025!
So MAKE YOUR MATCH and donate today!

MAKE YOUR MATCH — MAKE AN IMPACT
Together, we will continue to captivate, educate, and inspire audiences with theatre that matters.
The past few years have posed some significant challenges and The Stage, among so many other theatre companies, was impacted in ways we could have never imagined. Too many of our fellow Bay Area theatre organizations have had to shutter their doors in the wake of these unfortunate hardships, and your ongoing support will help The Stage continue to overcome these obstacles that have greatly affected our arts community.
Ticket sales cover only half of our operating costs, your additional support makes the rest possible. Your generosity directly sustains the powerful storytelling and fearless creativity that define The Stage, while giving artists the opportunity to work, grow and thrive in our community.

EACH GIFT MAKES A DIFFERENCE
Together, we will CONTINUE TO inspire and uplift emerging artists this year and for years to come.
THEATRE INTERNSHIP PROGRAM
Abhiraj S. Mujar, Member of The Stage's Theatre Internship Program
Last year’s contributions enabled us to expand The Stage’s Internship Program. The Stage provides this program to students at San Jose State University, Santa Clara University, West Valley, Evergreen Valley Colleges, and local high schools. We receive over 150 internship applications a year and we were able to employ more than 30 interns last season in positions that are paid hourly! These internships place students in experiential training in production (sound, light, backstage support) and administrative (management, development, marketing/communications, audience services) settings. These internships lead to more opportunities and employment in the industry and we see it as an investment in the future of the theatre and arts community.
Abhiraj S. Muhar (pictured above) was a participant in our Theatre Internship Program for several seasons (2017 - 2019) and recently served as the Costume Designer for the opening of our 2025-26 Season, McNEAL! Abhiraj is one of the many talented young artists to benefit from The Stage's Theatre Internship Program and we are proud to see his design on the mainstage!

NEW WORKS
2nd Annual AAPI Playwright Festival, Co-Production with CATS
In addition to our mainstage programming, last year’s contributions helped the The Stage co-produce the AAPI Playwright Festival with the Contemporary Asian Theatre Scene (CATS) for the second year in row. Because of your support, this unique theater experience showcased five world premiere 10-minute plays by emerging and established local Bay Area AAPI voices.
The contributions we received last year also supported The Stage’s mission and dedication to the development and presentation of new works, including the raw Regional Premiere of THE SMUGGLER, the critically-acclaimed new adaptation of Henrik Ibsen’s timeless and gripping AN ENEMY OF THE PEOPLE, as well as the riveting West Coast Premiere of McNEAL.
“[McNEAL is] nothing short of astounding...Hats off for pulling together yet another innovative and thought-provoking production at THE STAGE.”
– Broadway with AJ & Sarah
'…With a stellar cast of six veteran actors well-known by Bay Area audiences, The Stage's AN ENEMY OF THE PEOPLE is a STUNNING, MUST-SEE two hours of live theatre.'
– Eddie Reynolds, Talkin' Broadway
"The Stage has assured Bay Area audiences that they will be a large part of the South Bay's theatrical fabric for a very long time, setting the standard for others who create art for the Silicon Valley and beyond."
- David John Chávez
(American Theatre Critics Association)
Your generous contribution will ensure our continued growth and further our impact on San Jose's thriving community.
