ABOUT THE SHOW
BY STEFANO MASSINI
ADAPTED BY BEN POWER
THE TONY AWARD-WINNING EPIC
September 1844. A young Bavarian immigrant arrives in New York with nothing but ambition and his two brothers by his side. What happens next shapes American capitalism forever—and leads to one of the most devastating collapses in financial history.
The Lehman Trilogy tells the sweeping 163-year story of the family behind Lehman Brothers, from humble fabric merchants to Wall Street titans whose bankruptcy triggered the 2008 global financial crisis.
Winner of 5 Tony Awards including Best Play, this theatrical epic unfolds in three acts with just three actors playing multiple generations of Lehman family members, nearly two centuries compressed into one unforgettable evening.
Stefano Massini's original Italian text, brilliantly adapted by Ben Power, captures both the intimate family drama and the massive historical forces at play. It's a story about immigration, ambition, and the American dream—and what happens when that dream becomes a nightmare for everyone else.
Running time: 3 hours and 30 minutes, including two intermissions
Recommended age: 16 years and older
