A LANDMARK PARTNERSHIP
In 2016, San Jose Stage Company and El Teatro Campesino launched a three-year artistic partnership to commission and produce new work by Luis Valdez. The collaboration began with the sold-out, extended-run world premiere of Valley of the Heart, followed by Adiós Mamá Carlota in 2019. Adiós Mamá Carlota was commissioned through the support of The Wallace Alexander Gerbode Foundation and the William and Flora Hewlett Foundation Theatre Commissioning Award.
